Background
CCRI was set up in 2002 by the Environment Working Group of Clondalkin Partnership with funding support from FAS under the Social Economy programme. Further financial support came from South Dublin County Council (SDCC) and Clondalkin Partnership.
The purpose of CCRI was to assist the SDCC tackle the problem of illegal dumping of old household appliances in the Clondalkin area. In doing so, employment was created for local long-term unemployed people.
Currently, CCRI is supported by Pobal under the Community Services Programme of the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. WEEE Ireland, SDCC and Clondalkin Partnership continue to support CCRI.
